AFTERCARE

Follow these instructions for the best healing results.

You will need two products for your aftercare: Fragrance-Free Soap and Fragrance-Free Lotion - any brand will do.

Unscented does not necessarily mean fragrance-free, so please be careful of that when looking for soap and lotion. If you are having trouble finding these products, look for products labeled 'sensitive skin' normally those are fragrance-free.

*Avoid petroleum-based products such as Aquaphor, Neosporin, Vaseline, and A&D Ointment.*

REMOVING YOUR BANDAGE

After having the bandage on for one hour, wet it with warm water and carefully remove it. If needed, you can leave it on for up to four hours. Gently wash your tattoo with fragrance-free soap and warm water. Pat dry around your tattoo but allow your tattoo to air dry fully.

WASHING YOUR TATTOO

We recommend washing your tattoo three times a day: when you wake up, before you go to bed and once during the day. Repeat this process until your tattoo is fully healed, which can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks. Your tattoo should be mostly healed within the first two weeks but can take another two weeks before it fully settles and feels smooth to touch.

MOISTURIZING YOUR TATTOO

We recommend not applying lotion the day of your tattoo or the day after.

When your tattoo begins to feel dry you may begin to use a small amount of lotion. Use the lotion sparingly and only apply enough to hydrate the skin. Wait for your tattoo to feel dry again before reapplying. After two weeks, you can begin to use lotion as you normally would.

WHAT NOT TO DO

Avoid overexposure to the sun and swimming until the tattoo is fully healed. We recommend using sunscreen once healed so your tattoo stays looking fresh for a long as possible.

Avoid petroleum-based products such as Aquaphor, Neosporin, Vaseline, and A&D Ointment.

Tattoos will most likely flake and/or peel - this is totally natural. Do not pick at, peel, or remove scabs or hard spots if you have them, as this could remove pigment.
